Becoming Involved
Center Representatives
One of the ways for us to better serve the membership of this association is to involve non-board members. The standing committees listed on the Board of Directors page on the site need volunteers to join each committee. Each committee has a specific function and duty and YOUR input could play an important part in shaping the future of this organization.
Additionally, each center has a director assigned to represent the association. We certainly cannot be at each center 24/7. The National office has provided guidelines for establishing a CENTER REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM. Feel free to follow the link (http://www.bowl.com/Downloads/pdf/Associations/ALH2007_Ch3.pdf) for additional information. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in becoming more involved at your own center, such as handing out awards, delivering association correspondence, bringing sanction and award applications back to the association office, etc. Ideal persons would be league secretaries, league officers, people who bowl multiple leagues or those that just want to be more involved. Please call the office if you are interested in learning more.
Lane Inspectors
One of the most important tasks for any local USBC Association is the annual lane inspection/certifications. We are currently looking to add new members to our inspection crew. Do you have an engineering, mechanical, or technical background? Have you always wondered how the lanes are maintained from the foul line to the pits? Then YOU might be just the person we're looking for in a Certified Lane Inspector. With 17 centers to certify within the NLAC, it is a tremendous task to schedule & inspect all the centers between April 1 & July 31 each year. Over the past few years, we've relied on a small, but dedicated crew. If you would like to learn more, please call or email the NLAC office.
BVL Drive
November is BVL Month. Over the years, this association has always supports this worthy cause. If you are looking to become involved in a worthy cause, helping with this effort will give you that satisfaction of helping out past & present troops through our sport. Association Directors & League Secretaries have been have been involved in collecting donations during league sessions. This year we expanded this drive by giving the open play bowlers an opportunity to donate as well. Each center in our association will have a collection container at the front desk. All donations are tax deductible. Contact the association office to see how you can become involved.http://www.bowl.com/Downloads/pdf/Associations/ALH2007_Ch3.pdfhttp://www.bowl.com/clip/main.aspxhttp://www.bowlforveterans.org/shapeimage_1_link_0shapeimage_1_link_1shapeimage_1_link_2
