Becoming Involved

Center Reps
One of the ways for us to better serve the membership of this association is to involve non-board members. Our committees  volunteers. Each committee has a specific function and duty and YOUR input could play an important role in shaping the future of this organization.

Additionally, each center has a director assigned to represent the association.  We certainly cannot be at each center 24/7.  The National office has provided guidelines for establishing a CENTER REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM. Feel free to download that information at www.bowl.com.  We are looking for volunteers who are interested in becoming more involved at their own center such as presenting awards and delivering association correspondence and material between the association office and center.  Ideal persons would be league secretaries, league officers, people who bowl multiple leagues or those that just want to be more active and involved.  Please call the office at (818) 810-6263 if you are interested or need more information.

Lane Inspectors
One of the most important tasks for any local USBC Association is the annual lane inspection/certifications. We are currently looking to add new members to our inspection crew.  Do you have an engineering, mechanical or technical background? Have you always wondered how the lanes are maintained from the foul line to the pits? Then YOU might be just the person we’re looking for in a Certified Lane Inspector. With 16 centers to certify with the NLAC, it is a tremendous task to schedule and inspect all of the centers from April 1–
July 31 each year.  Over the past few years, we’ve relied on a small, but dedicated crew. If you are interested or would like more information, please call the office at (818) 810-6263.

BVL Drive
November is BVL Month. If you are looking to become involved in a worthy cause, helping with this effort will give you that satisfaction of helping past and present troops through our great sport of bowling.  Association directors and league secretaries have been involved in collecting donations during league sessions for many, many years.  This year we expanded this drive by giving open play bowlers an opportunity to donate at the front desk. All donations are tax deductible. Please contact the association office to see how you can become involved. We appreciate any support.
